This maintenance release provides some performance updates. DEVONsphere Express now uses multiple search engines to improve the chance of returning results for web searches. DEVONsphere Express also better indexes third-party formats with Spotlight support as well as HTML and web archives. And the application can now dynamically manage its own CPU and disk-related activities, e.g., when the Mac runs on battery power.

Version 1.9.8
In this latest maintenance update, we've made a few helpful improvements and addressed some issues. For example, we've added support for macOS' dark mode. DEVONsphere Express also delivers improved results by better filtering web-based content. And for those of you who rely on more complex searches, we've made improvements to ensure those work better as well. As always, we've also enhanced the overall performance and reliability.

When manually checking for updates, the alert shows a Release Notes button if no updates are available.

A new hidden preference, DontSetFindPboard, disables using macOS' shared clipboard. This eliminates search terms used in DEVONsphere Express from being automatically used in other applications, e.g., EasyFind.

Entering incorrect wildcards in a search could crash the application. Fixed.

Complex searches including wildcards, proximity operators, phrases, and parentheses didn't work correctly or produced too many results. Fixed.

In today's release, you'll find a new link to our online FAQ in the Help menu. DEVONsphere Express more reliably returns related websites and sets thumbnails for them. And beyond general fixes, we improved overall performance and reliability again.
